Security forces arrest two female suicide bombers and a facilitator.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s security forces killed 10 terrorists linked to Fitna al Hindustan and Fitna al Khwarij during multiple intelligence-based operations in Balochistan over the past 48 hours, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Wednesday.

According to the military’s media wing, the operations were carried out in Surab and Mastung districts as part of ongoing efforts to eliminate terrorist networks and their facilitators operating in the province.

ISPR said security forces engaged terrorist hideouts during targeted operations, killing seven terrorists in Surab. In a separate operation in Mastung, security personnel killed three terrorists and arrested two female suicide bombers along with a facilitator allegedly linked to Fitna al Hindustan.

Security forces also recovered a cache of weapons, ammunition and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) from the militants during the operations.

The military said sanitisation operations are continuing in the affected areas to eliminate any remaining militants and ensure the area is cleared of terrorist elements.

ISPR reiterated that Pakistan’s security forces and law enforcement agencies will continue nationwide counterterrorism operations under the “Azm-e-Istehkam” strategy, approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan, to eliminate foreign-sponsored terrorism and its support networks.

Earlier, in June, security forces killed 17 militants linked to Fitna al Hindustan during a series of intelligence-based operations in Mastung, Nushki, Zehri, Khuzdar and Kech districts of Balochistan.

According to ISPR, the operations were launched following the May 24 train incident, dealing a significant blow to militant networks operating in the province.
