Richard Attias, is no longer serving as CEO of Future Investment Initiative

Saudi Arabia’s Future Investment Initiative (FII) Institute has appointed Princess “Maha-Al-Saud” as its new chief executive officer.

The institute is best known for its annual investment summit in Riyadh, which attracts leading business leaders, investors, and financial experts from around the world. Beside hosting its flagship event in Riyadh, the institute also organizes economic conferences in different countries.

These events aim to attract foreign investment and strengthen international business partnerships. The leadership change comes ahead of the institute upcoming conference in Rome later this month.

Princess Maha-Al-Saud has a background in medicine and trained as a doctor. Before becoming CEO, she served as Vice President of External Relations and advancement at Alfaisal University in Riyadh. She has also represented Saudi Arabia at major international forums, including the G20 and the Fourth Eurasian Women’s Forum.

The institute founder and long serving chief executive, Richard Attias, is no longer serving as CEO. However, he will continue his role as Chairman of the Executive Committee, according to information available on the institute website.

The Future Investment Initiative Institute was established in 2019 with support from Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund, the Public Investment Fund (PIF). The institute grew from the Future Investment Initiative Conference, which was first launched in Riyadh in 2017 and has since become one of the world’s leading investment events.

Earlier this year, the institute held an event in Miami that was attended by US President Donald Trump. With Princess Maha Al Saud now leading the organization, the institute is expected to continue expanding its global role in promoting investment and economic cooperation.
