Iran armed forces ready for decisive response to any aggression: Ghalibaf

He emphasized that the world has already recognized the consequences of flawed decision-making, adding that Iran is prepared for all possible scenarios and that any adversary would be taken by surprise.

“Our armed forces are ready to deliver a proportionate and decisive response to any aggression. Wrong strategies and misjudgments always lead to adverse outcomes. The world has already understood this reality. We are prepared for all options,” Ghalibaf said.

In a statement shared on social media platform X, he reiterated that Iran’s military forces remain on high alert and operational readiness across all contingencies.

Iranian officials have consistently maintained that while the country remains committed to regional peace and stability it will respond firmly to any violation of its sovereignty or national security red lines.

Meanwhile regional tensions continue to escalate as former US President Donald Trump described the current ceasefire with Iran as being “on life support,” following Tehran’s response to a US proposal aimed at de-escalation. According to Trump, significant differences remain between both sides on key issues.

Iran has called for a broader cessation of hostilities across multiple fronts, including Lebanon, where Israel continues operations against Iran-backed Hezbollah. Tehran has also demanded compensation for war-related damages, an end to maritime restrictions, security guarantees against future strikes, and the resumption of its oil exports.

Additionally, Iran has reiterated its position on sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz, a vital global energy corridor through which a significant portion of the world’s oil and gas shipments pass, amid heightened regional sensitivities.

Responding to the US proposal for a phased ceasefire and subsequent negotiations, Trump dismissed Tehran’s counter-response, describing it as weak and inadequate.

“I would call it the weakest right now… I didn’t even finish reading it,” he remarked, while maintaining that the ceasefire remains fragile.

The United States had earlier proposed an initial halt to hostilities followed by negotiations on more complex issues, including Iran’s nuclear programme. However, Tehran’s rejection of key conditions has left diplomatic efforts in a precarious position, with the ceasefire increasingly under strain.
