Government introduces Minority Card, ensuring quarterly financial assistance for over 100,000 families.

Lahore: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif extended profound Easter greetings to the Christian community, conveying her heartfelt prayers and unwavering goodwill on this auspicious occasion.

In her official message, Maryam Nawaz Sharif reaffirmed that the Government of Punjab stands in resolute solidarity with the Christian community, wholeheartedly sharing in their joy and upholding the sanctity of their religious traditions.

She lauded the Christian community as a peaceful, dignified, and indispensable segment of Pakistani society, whose enduring contributions span from the Pakistan Movement to the nation’s ongoing socio-economic advancement.

Underscoring their unwavering patriotism and steadfast commitment, the Chief Minister emphasized that the services rendered by the Christian community in nation-building are both exemplary and beyond reproach.

She further invoked the visionary principles of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, reiterating the State’s foundational commitment to equality, inclusivity, and non-discrimination for all citizens irrespective of faith or ethnicity.

Highlighting the deeper essence of Easter, Maryam Nawaz Sharif called for a renewed national commitment to the universal values of compassion, unity, and interfaith harmony, stressing the imperative to foster a more cohesive and inclusive society.

She also outlined the Punjab government’s proactive measures for minority welfare, noting a substantial enhancement in grants alongside the allocation of dedicated development funds.

In a landmark initiative, the government has introduced the “Minority Card” to institutionalise financial support, through which over 100,000 deserving minority families are receiving quarterly assistance of Rs. 10,500.
