The prime minister clarified UK has no intention of taking part in the war directly.

On Wednesday, UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer declared that Britain will not be involved in the ongoing Iran–US conflict and that safeguarding national interests remains his top priority.

Speaking at a press conference, Keir Starmer said “This conflict is not our war. Britain will not be dragged into a wider conflict under any circumstances.”

He said that, the government’s foremost duty is the security and sovereignty of the United Kingdom safeguarding British families, the economy and future generations from the fallout of foreign wars.

The premier underlined that while London remains committed to de‑escalation and diplomatic efforts, it will not commit British forces to combat operations in the Middle East.

Instead, the United Kingdom will focus on working with international partners to limit the economic impacts of the crisis and uphold peace through non‑military avenues.
