Iran is interested in negotiating but is hesitant due to internal and external pressures, Trump claims

Iran is currently assessing a US proposal aimed at ending the conflict in the Gulf region, though Tehran emphasizes it has no immediate plans for negotiations.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi clarified that while messages have been exchanged through mediators, this does not constitute direct talks with the US. Iran has also indicated that Lebanon should be included in any ceasefire agreement with the US and Israel.

Trump Says Iran Wants a Deal

US President Donald Trump claimed that Iran is interested in negotiating but is hesitant due to internal and external pressures. The US has presented a 15-point plan involving the removal of Iran’s enriched uranium stocks, halting enrichment activities, and curbing missile programs.

However, the White House has refused to release detailed specifics and warned of increased military action if Iran does not accept US terms.

Israel Weighs In, Central Command Highlights Military Gains

Israel has expressed skepticism that Iran will accept the U.S. terms and voiced concern that American negotiators might make concessions. Israeli leaders also stressed that any agreement must allow Israel to retain the option of pre‑emptive strikes.

Meanwhile, U.S. military commanders reported significant progress in degrading Iran’s capabilities. Admiral Brad Cooper, head of U.S. Central Command forces in the region, said in a video briefing that more than 10,000 targets inside Iran have been struck.

    According to Cooper:

92% of Iran’s largest naval vessels have been destroyed.

Iranian drone and missile launch rates are down by over 90%.

The U.S. and Israeli forces have damaged or destroyed about two‑thirds of Iranian missile, drone and naval production facilities and shipyards.
