Pakistan will consistently support efforts to ease tensions and promote peaceful dispute resolution worldwide, Asim Iftikhar

New York: Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Asim Iftikhar, reaffirmed on Monday that the country remains committed to supporting all efforts aimed at resolving conflicts peacefully.

Addressing the UN Security Council on the situation in Ukraine, he stressed that Pakistan consistently backs initiatives that help bridge differences and encourage dialogue, whether in Ukraine or in other regions facing tensions.

He called on all parties involved to act responsibly, avoid further escalation, and prioritize diplomatic engagement as the primary path to resolution.

He also underscored the importance of adhering strictly to international law and the core principles outlined in the United Nations Charter.
