In eastern Saudi Arabia, 12 drones were shot down.

Qatari forces intercepted multiple missiles and drones, though debris from one missile ignited a fire in an industrial zone. In eastern Saudi Arabia, 12 drones were shot down, according to the Saudi Ministry of Defence.

In Abu Dhabi, missile debris killed one person, while a Pakistani citizen was also killed by fragments from an Iranian missile.

Another powerful explosion rocked the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, as reports emerged of escalating attacks in the region. According to news agencies, two explosive-laden drones targeted the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad.

Meanwhile, ongoing Israeli and U.S. attacks in Iran have reportedly killed 1,444 people and injured 18,551. In northeastern Iran, authorities arrested 10 foreigners on espionage charges.

U.S-Israel-Iran War, day 18 – What to Know:

Updating this post as developments happen

    • Donald Trump has been warned the US faces another Vietnam if he puts boots on the ground in Iran.
    • The country’s deputy foreign minister told Sky News it would be a “reckless” move and that Tehran would fight for as long as is needed.
    • The US president has been trying to persuade America’s allies to help secure the Strait of Hormuz against Iranian attacks, as the price of oil rises.
    • Oil prices remain above the significant $100 milestone after the US bombed Kharg Island off Iran, home to a major oil terminal, on Friday.
    • Another tanker has been hit off the coast of the UAE, though no injuries have been reported.
    • Trump has warned NATO faces a “very bad” future if allies do not help to secure the strait, and reiterated he was “not happy” with the UK.
    • But Sir Keir Starmer is resisting the calls to send warships, saying the UK won’t get dragged “into a wider war” – and the EU has “no appetite” to expand its naval mission to the strait.
    • Meanwhile, Iran continues to target US and Israeli sites in the Middle East, including the American embassy in Baghdad, and the UAE temporarily closed its airspace amid threats of drones and missiles.
    • Israel has launched ground operations in Lebanon – a move that the UK and its allies say they are “gravely concerned” by – and hit Tehran with fresh strikes overnight.
