Any mediation “must be in a condition where there is not only ceasefire, Iranian government spokesperson

The death toll from ongoing attacks by the United States and Israel on Iran has exceeded 1,300, according to reports from Arab media, as intense bombardment continues across several Iranian cities.

Iranian media reported that a US missile strike in the city of Khomein targeted the Dr Hafiz Khomeini School, damaging nearby residential houses as well.

In the capital Tehran, heavy bombardment was reported overnight. Powerful explosions were heard in the eastern, southern and western parts of the city. According to local reports, at least 40 people were killed in strikes near Resalat Square.

The US Central Command said American forces will continue searching for Iranian missile launchers and will destroy them wherever they are found.

Meanwhile, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced the launch of another wave of retaliatory missile strikes, calling it the 33rd wave of attacks. The IRGC said that upcoming strikes will involve heavy missiles weighing more than one tonne.

The Iranian military also rejected US claims that its missile programme has been destroyed, stating that it is deploying a greater number of projectiles with heavier warheads.

US President Donald Trump warned Iran against disrupting oil shipments in the Strait of Hormuz, saying Washington would respond “20 times harder” if Tehran attempted to stop oil tankers. However, he also suggested earlier that the war could end “very soon”.

Iran has continued counterattacks on Israeli and US-linked targets across the Middle East, including in Bahrain, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.

According to reports, one person was killed in Manama, Bahrain, while two people were killed in central Israel during the latest round of attacks.
