Former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton are scheduled to appear before the House Oversight Committee as part of its ongoing investigation into Jeffrey Epstein’s alleged network of influence and misconduct.
The testimonies are sworn, out-of-court statements given under oath during a closed-door session. The process will be recorded and transcribed, with any false statements potentially leading to legal repercussions.
Initially resistant to testify, citing political motivations behind the inquiry, the Clintons ultimately agreed to appear after the committee indicated it was prepared to pursue a bipartisan vote to hold them in contempt—a move that could have resulted in criminal charges.
“No one is accusing the Clintons of any wrongdoing,” said House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer. “We just have a lot of questions.”
Hillary Clinton is scheduled to testify on Thursday, February 26, followed by Bill Clinton on Friday, February 27. The sessions are expected to start during normal business hours, though exact times have not been publicly confirmed.
The depositions come after months of tense exchanges, with previous scheduled dates missed by both Clintons. Bill Clinton’s deposition was first requested for October 2025 but was rescheduled multiple times, including a cancellation due to a funeral.
Similarly, Hillary Clinton’s initial hearing was scheduled for October 2025 and later moved, with both ultimately declining to appear before new subpoenas were issued.
