Rawalpindi: Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, visited Bahawalpur Cantonment where he was briefed on various operational, training, and administrative matters of the Corps, with a particular focus on preparations for Multi-Domain Warfare.

During the visit, the Army Chief observed the field exercise “Steadfast Resolve” at Khairpur Tamewali. The exercise showcased the integration of modern military technologies, including Unmanned Aerial Systems (drones), advanced surveillance and electronic warfare systems, as well as modern command and control mechanisms. These capabilities reflect the Pakistan Armed Forces’ emphasis on technology-driven, multi-domain operations.

Addressing the troops, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir commended them for their high morale, professional competence, and operational preparedness. He reaffirmed that “Pakistan’s Armed Forces are fully prepared to counter all types of threats and to defend Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.” Emphasizing the evolving nature of warfare, he highlighted the need for constant readiness to meet future battlefield and security challenges.

“The nature of modern warfare has undergone a significant change,” the Army Chief stated, adding that technological advancement is driving transformation across all domains, making modernization at every level inevitable.

As part of his visit, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir inaugurated the Rohi eSkills Learning Hub (STP), aimed at promoting digital skills and learning opportunities, particularly for students of South Punjab and across the country. He also inaugurated the APS Abbasia Campus, which, according to ISPR, reaffirms the Pakistan Army’s commitment to quality education and character building.

The Army Chief also visited the EME Regional Workshop, where he was briefed on sustainment and maintenance systems, the use of modern technologies, indigenous manufacturing, and other combat support initiatives.

Upon arrival at Bahawalpur Garrison, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir was received by the Commander Bahawalpur Corps. He laid a wreath at the Martyrs’ Memorial and offered Fateha, paying rich tribute to the supreme sacrifices of the martyrs for the nation.
