UAE President accepts Trump’s invitation to join ‘Board of Peace’

United Arab Emirates(UAE) President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has accepted an invitation from US President Donald Trump to join the proposed Board of Peace.

According to a statement issued by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed formally agreed to become a member of the US-led initiative.

A news agency reported that under the board’s charter, member states will hold membership for a maximum term of three years, with any extension subject to approval by the board’s chairman.

UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed said the decision to join reflects the importance of the full implementation of President Trump’s 20-point peace plan for Gaza, which he described as vital for securing the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.

According to foreign media, the United States is urging several global leaders to become part of the board, which will operate under Trump’s leadership. Reports further claim that a permanent seat on the board carries a fee of one billion dollars.

While the initiative was initially presented as a mechanism to oversee Gaza’s reconstruction, its charter does not limit its mandate solely to Gaza. Documents cited by the news agency suggest the board could potentially emerge as an alternative or rival to the United Nations.

The UAE remains a close strategic ally of the United States in the region and is among the Arab countries that maintain diplomatic relations with Israel.

Earlier, Morocco’s King has accepted an invitation from US President Donald Trump to join the Gaza Peace Board as a founding member.

According to Morocco’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the King agreed to participate in the board in a founding capacity, aimed at supporting peace efforts in the Middle East.

The ministry said the board will include a limited number of international leaders committed to promoting long-term stability and prosperity in the region.

It added that Morocco will formally endorse the board’s constitutional charter and reaffirm its commitment to achieving a comprehensive, just, and lasting peace in the Middle East.
