    JCP convenes important session on Sindh High Court affairs

    KARACHI: An important meeting of the Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP) regarding matters related to the Sindh High Court was held at the Supreme Court of Pakistan.

    The meeting, convened in the Supreme Court’s conference room, was chaired by Chief Justice of Pakistan Yahya Afridi in his capacity as Chairman of the Judicial Commission.

    During the session, detailed deliberations were held on the confirmation of additional judges of the Sindh High Court as permanent judges.

    The commission also discussed recommendations concerning the reconstitution of constitutional benches and the extension of their tenure.

    Participants reviewed the overall performance of the Sindh High Court and its judicial requirements, emphasizing the need to align recommendations strictly with constitutional provisions.

    Sindh Minister for Home and Law Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar attended the meeting and presented his viewpoint on matters related to the Sindh High Court.

    Addressing the commission, he stressed that judicial stability and the timely delivery of justice are critically important in the present era.

    The meeting concluded with consensus on formulating the Judicial Commission’s recommendations in accordance with constitutional requirements to strengthen the judicial system in Sindh.
