Islamabad: Pakistan has successfully conducted the flight test of its indigenously developed air-launched cruise missile, the Taimoor Weapon System, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Saturday.

According to the military’s media wing, the Taimoor Air-Launched Cruise Missile (ALCM) is capable of engaging both land and sea targets with high precision at a range of up to 600 kilometres, carrying a conventional warhead.

The missile is equipped with a state-of-the-art navigation and guidance system and is designed to fly at very low altitudes, enabling it to evade hostile air and missile defence systems.

ISPR said the missile’s precision-strike capability significantly enhances the conventional deterrence and operational flexibility of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF), further strengthening the country’s overall defence posture.

The successful flight test was witnessed by senior officers of the Pakistan Armed Forces, along with scientists and engineers who played a key role in the development of the weapon system. The test underscores the growing technical maturity, innovation, and self-reliance of Pakistan’s defence industry.

Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of Air Staff, congratulated the scientists, engineers, and the PAF team on the achievement, praising their professionalism, dedication, and commitment to strengthening national defence capabilities.

He said such accomplishments reflect Pakistan’s resolve to achieve technological self-sufficiency and maintain a credible conventional deterrent amid an evolving regional security environment.

The successful test, he added, highlights the PAF’s continued focus on operational readiness, technological advancement, and national security objectives.
