Scientists have developed a new method for treating cancer that uses advanced technology to specifically target cancerous cells without harming healthy tissue.

A team from RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia, said that extremely small metallic particles can identify and destroy cancer cells in humans. This approach opens new possibilities for targeted therapies.

The research is currently in its early stages and has so far only been tested on lab-grown cells, not on humans or animals. The findings point toward promising new strategies that exploit the weaknesses present in cancer cells.

Dr. Baowei Zheng from the university explained that cancer cells experience higher stress compared to healthy cells. These metallic particles increase that stress to a level where the cancer cells essentially trigger their own destruction.
