    • Dec 6 IBO carried out on reported presence of terrorists: ISPR
    • Military’s media wing says terrorists killed in intense fire exchange.
    • Sanitation operation underway; weapons, explosives recovered.

As part of ongoing operations aimed at curbing the menace of terrorism,  security forces neutralised 12 India-backed terrorists belonging to Fitna al-Hindustan during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Balochistan’s Kalat district, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Sunday.

The operation, the military’s media wing added, was carried out on December 6 on the reported presence of terrorists and was followed by an intense exchange of fire resulting in the terrorists’ elimination.

“Weapons, ammunition and explosives were also recovered from the terrorists, who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities in the area,” the statement read.

Also, sanitisation operations are being conducted to eliminate any other India-sponsored terrorists found in the area as part of anti-terror campaign under the vision “Azm e Istehkam, it added.

Lauding the security forces on a successful operation, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that they are achieving great successes against terrorism.

The entire nation stands with the Pakistani Armed Forces in this war against terrorism, the premier said, adding that the nation remains determined to eradicate all forms of terrorism from the country.

The IBO comes days after the ISPR announced killing 14 terrorists in three separate operations conducted in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.

Terrorist attacks have seen a sharp increase in Pakistan, particularly in the bordering provinces of KP and Balochistan, since 2021, when the Afghan Taliban regime came into power.

ISPR Director General Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, in a statement on November 25, 2025, said that 67,023 intelligence-based operations (IBOs) were conducted across Pakistan — mostly in KP and Balochistan — during the ongoing year as part of counterterrorism efforts.

He said that as many as 1,873 terrorists, including 136 Afghan nationals, have been killed in 12,857 IBOs carried out in KP and 53,309 in Balochistan this year till November 2025.

Pakistan has time and again called on the Afghan Taliban regime in Kabul to prevent its soil from being used by terrorists against Pakistan, and the issue recently resulted in heightened tensions featuring cross-border attacks by the Afghan side, resulting in retaliation from Pakistani forces as well.
