    • Court accepts settlement after families record statements.
    • Magistrate orders suspect’s release on approved bail.
    • Remand completed before suspect’s appearance in court.

ISLAMABAD: The families of the two young women, who lost their lives after being hit by a speeding vehicle in Islamabad, have pardoned the suspect, leading to the termination of the case.

The development came as both families recorded their statements before Judicial Magistrate Shaista Khan Kundi.

The teenage boy, whose father is said to be associated with the judiciary, was sent on a four-day physical remand on December 2 after his car fatally hit a scooter carrying two women at Islamabad’s Secretariat Chowk on Shahrah-e-Dastoor.

Police said the car collided with the scooter, killing both women on the spot. The driver was arrested immediately after the incident and later produced before the court. The judge handed the accused over to the police on a four-day physical remand for further investigation.

During today’s proceedings, the court was informed that the parties had reached a settlement, after which the judge approved the suspect’s bail and ordered his release.

One victim’s brother appeared in court to record the family’s statement, while the mother’s statement was recorded online. The father of the second deceased girl also submitted his statement in person.

The suspect was presented before the court upon completion of his four-day physical remand.
