After the successful implementation of the e-challan system in Karachi, the Sindh Police are preparing to introduce the system in other cities of the province.

The decision was made during a high-level meeting at the Central Police Office, chaired by IG Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon, where the system’s performance and expansion plans were reviewed.

The meeting was attended by Additional IGs, DIGs, DG Safe City Authority, Highway Patrol, Establishment, Driving License Sindh, IT, Finance, and other department officials, while divisional DIGs joined via video link.

DIG Traffic briefed that since the system’s launch in Karachi, over 23,000 citizens have visited facilitation centers, and fewer than 200 challenged their e-challans. About 90% of issued e-challans have been waived, and a total of PKR 25 million has been collected in fines from 4,000 challans.

As the next step, ground and aerial surveillance will be deployed to curb parking violations. Traffic police vehicles and drones will scan “No Parking” zones and issue e-tickets automatically.

IG Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon stated that the faceless system has been widely appreciated by citizens, improved compliance with traffic rules, and reduced unnecessary delays. He instructed DIG IT to review cameras, recording, storage, and internet facilities across the province and submit a comprehensive report.

It was decided that all districts will establish facilitation centers, train staff, and ensure all traffic violation data is sent to the centralized TRACS system in Karachi. After completing preparations, the faceless e-ticketing system will be officially launched in all major cities of Sindh.
