Israeli airstrikes hit Gaza as deadly West Bank raids continue

Five Palestinians were shot dead in Jenin, while three others were killed elsewhere in the occupied West Bank on Sunday.

Israeli air attacks struck multiple areas across the Gaza Strip on Sunday, with strikes reported both inside the “yellow line” in southern Gaza and in several neighborhoods of Gaza City, according to local sources.

In the occupied West Bank, a young Palestinian man was killed by Israeli forces during a raid on the Askar refugee camp east of Nablus, the Palestinian Red Crescent told Al Jazeera. Residents described hours-long confrontations as Israeli troops moved through the densely populated camp.

Meanwhile, Palestinian authorities say Israel has returned 15 more bodies of Palestinians detained in Gaza, bringing the total number of deceased handed over since the October 10 ceasefire to 330. Families continue to gather at hospitals and morgues seeking information on missing relatives.

Humanitarian conditions in Gaza remain dire. Heavy rains in recent days have flooded makeshift camps in Gaza City, soaking tents and destroying the few belongings displaced families were able to bring with them. Aid agencies warn that the crisis is rapidly worsening.

The United Nations said Israeli restrictions on humanitarian access have left “hundreds of thousands of families without adequate shelter,” exacerbating risks of disease and exposure as winter approaches. UN officials reiterated calls for safe corridors and expanded aid deliveries to prevent further deterioration.

As bombardments, raids, and displacement continue across Palestinian territories, civilians face growing uncertainty with no clear path toward easing the months-long conflict.
