Pakistan sees temperature drop after snowfall in northern regions

A significant cold wave has swept across Pakistan, following heavy snowfall in the northern regions of the country. This has attracted large numbers of tourists to the picturesque, snow-covered landscapes.

Popular tourist destinations such as Shogran have seen a sharp increase in visitors eager to experience the winter wonderland. Scenic locations like Malam Jabba, Kalam, and Mahodand in Swat Valley have also become more captivating, with a fresh blanket of snow enhancing their beauty.

In the higher altitudes of Gilgit-Baltistan, freezing temperatures have caused lakes and waterfalls to freeze. Similarly, hill stations in Murree and Azad Kashmir are experiencing bitterly cold conditions, with residents braving the chilly weather.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicts cold and dry weather for most parts of the country, with partly cloudy skies in mountainous regions.

Light rain is expected in northwestern Balochistan overnight, along with snowfall in higher elevations. Light fog is also anticipated in southern Punjab during the morning and evening hours.

The cold wave has brought both challenges and opportunities, making it a perfect time for tourists to enjoy the beauty of Pakistan’s winter landscapes.
