Game-Changer in Healthcare: Pakistani doctor launches Hami, World First AI Medical assistant

Game-Changer in Healthcare: Pakistani doctor launches Hami, World First AI Medical assistant

What if AI could do more than just speed up healthcare—what if it made it more human, inclusive, and accessible? That’s the vision behind Hami, the world’s first AI-powered physician assistant created to deliver truly personalized, evidence-based care from start to finish.

Developed by U.S.-based health tech company Boston Health AI, Hami has officially launched and is already in use across multiple hospitals in Pakistan, with plans to expand worldwide.

At a time when the global healthcare system is overwhelmed—with staff burnout, doctor shortages, and major gaps in access—Hami offers a breakthrough. It’s not just built for efficiency; it’s designed with empathy. Created by physicians and powered by cutting-edge AI, Hami transforms how care is delivered—smarter, safer, multilingual, and deeply patient-focused.

    A Doctor’s Vision for Change:

Hami was founded by Dr. Adil Haider, an internationally recognized trauma surgeon and health equity leader who previously served as Dean of Aga Khan University Medical College and taught at Harvard and Johns Hopkins. His goal? To ensure expert-level healthcare is available no matter where someone lives.

“Healthcare should not depend on geography or income,” Dr. Haider said. “With Hami, we’re breaking down barriers so physicians can deliver high-quality care to every patient—whether in Boston or Badin.”

Designed for Patients, Built for Physicians:

While most AI tools focus on the backend of healthcare, Hami is built for what matters most: the patient journey. From check-in to post-visit summaries, Hami supports both patients and doctors every step of the way.

It listens during consultations, transcribes the conversation in real time, and turns it into structured SOAP notes using advanced natural language processing. It can analyze diagnostics, connect with lab systems, and offer evidence-based clinical recommendations—all while reducing paperwork and saving time.

“It’s about improving the quality of care while easing the pressure on physicians,” Dr. Haider explained. “Our mission is to reach and impact 1 billion lives around the world.”

    Addressing Urgent Healthcare Gaps:

The World Health Organization warns of a global shortage of 11 million healthcare professionals by 2030. In Pakistan alone, over 87 million people lack access to essential care. Patients often face long waits and rushed appointments that leave little room for meaningful treatment.

Built with Security and Scale in Mind:

Co-founded by Asif Peer, CEO of Systems Limited, Boston Health AI brings together clinical insight and engineering excellence. Hami complies with global privacy standards like HIPAA and GDPR, ensuring patient data is secure and handled with care.

The platform also generates interactive after-visit summaries, helping patients better understand their care plans and stick to treatments. Its multilingual interface ensures everyone—regardless of language—can have a seamless, informed healthcare experience.
