Sean Diddy Combs is denied bail in his sexual assault scandal.
The rapper will remain in custody as he waits for his sentence weeks after authorities branded him guilty of high profile sex trafficking.
Judge Arun Subramanian has reasoned the decision based on Combs’ “yearslong pattern of violence.” The hearing began hours after jurors announced they reached a verdict Wednesday morning.
This comes as Diddy’s victim and former girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, requested the same through her legal team.
“Ms. Ventura believes that Mr. Combs is likely to pose a danger to the victims who testified in this case, including herself, as well as to the community,” Cassie’s lawyer, Douglas Wigdor, wrote in the letter reviewed by PEOPLE.
