Elizabeth Hurley’s longtime pal David Furnish commented on her new relationship with Billy Ray Cyrus.
The headlining couple shocked fans after announcing their relationship last month on Easter, and the close friend of the 59-year-old English actress and model gushed over her new romance with the 63-year-old singer.
“She’s very happy and I wish her all the best,” David told Hello! Magazine in a recent interview.
Furnish, who has been friends with Elizabeth for decades, expressed his protective side for Hurley but noted that he wants the best for her.
He went on to say, “Obviously, that little side of me is a little protective…because your best girlfriends, when you really love them…you just want to make sure they’re OK.”
Furnish praised Hurley calling her “really smart and really capable” and noted that she’s “a really good judge of character.”
“I’m excited for her and I’m excited to see where it goes,” David said of Hurley and the Achy Breaky Heart singer’s blooming romance. “We all need love, right?”
