Comedy icon Russell Howards world changed forever after baby tragedy

Russell Howard has shared the heartbreaking news that his baby son Felix died earlier this year.

The comedian said his family’s life changed forever after Felix died shortly after birth.

Russell and his wife Cerys were supported by hospital staff during the painful time.

He said their kindness helped them through some of the hardest days of their lives.

The couple were also cared for by a bereavement midwife named Lauren. She had lost her own baby and later became a midwife to help other families facing the same pain.

Russell said Felix was placed in a cool cot at the hospital as this meant he and Cerys could spend precious time with their son.

They were able to hold him, talk to him and tell him how much they loved him.

Those moments have stayed very special to them.

The couple have now started The Felix Foundation in memory of their son.

The charity will help families dealing with miscarriage, premature birth, stillbirth and the death of a newborn baby.

Russell said: “We miss him dearly, every single day, but we take some comfort in knowing that his name will stand for kindness, compassion and laughter.”

The couple also have a two year old son.
