Lucy Davis has made her first public appearance since sharing her stage four breast cancer diagnosis.
The actress, known for playing Dawn Tinsley in The Office, appeared at a fan event in London on Saturday.
Davis spent the day meeting fans, signing autographs and taking photos with them.
She also joined Shaun of the Dead stars Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright for a panel.
Fans at the event showed Davis a lot of love as she thanked them and talked about how special the fan community has become for her.
“It’s like this whole second family you never knew you had,” she said. “We need a bit more niceness in the world, so I’m grateful.”
Davis shared her cancer diagnosis less than two weeks ago.
She, however, said she first found a very small lump but almost did not get it checked.
The cancer has since spread to her spine, right hip and ribs.
Davis has also opened up about how the illness has affected her, sharing standing and walking for a long time can be difficult and she sometimes needs a wheelchair.
Still, the actress said she is trying to find something good in a very difficult time.
“I always like to find the teachable moments in anything negative that happens,” she said.
Davis has also asked her friends and family to treat her normally and keep making her laugh.
“I’m grateful,” she told fans during her emotional return.
