Britney Spears once experienced such a painful moment that she felt like she had transcended into a different reality.
In a since-deleted Instagram caption on Tuesday, August 18, the Princess of Pop recalled the time in 2024 that she broke her left foot, describing the pain as worse than childbirth.
“The pain was the most unbelievable severe pain after the surgery I had ever had in my life,” Spears, 44, wrote, ranking the pain worse than the time she previously broke two knees and her right foot, and even worse than when she gave birth to her sons Sean Preston Federline and Jayden James Federline in 2005 and 2006 respectively.
“They gave me medication but it didn’t help. I crawled to the bathroom every day… it was horrible!” Spears revealed. “But to my surprise, the left side of the body is feminine side… and I assumed it was my feminine side, that’s why I was way too sensitive.”
The Baby One More Time hitmaker then recalled the pain getting to a level where she fet herself “going into a different dimension of time.”
“Where cats or lions live and time was extremely intense and unbelievably weird and different!” Spears explained. “I had never been in this state of my mind and it could be bulls**t… the pain just brought me somewhere different.”
The Grammy-winner noted that the experience was “spiritual.”
“I milked each moment in a spiritual way and I would never normally indulge in myself like that and take in and own each moment as if I ever mattered period,” she wrote.

The post was accompanied by a throwback video of Spears dancing for the first time since that surgery. Although the video is still up on her Instagram page, Spears deleted the caption shortly after posting it.
