Taylor Swift is leading the MTV VMAs nominations after Madonna, but the fandom is upset over The Fate of Ophelia not getting the recognition it deserves.
The 36-year-old pop superstar has nine nominations for the award ceremony scheduled to take place in September, but her hit song from the album The Life of a Showgirl did not get nominated for the Song of the Year category.
Taking their complaints to be heard, Swifties flocked to social media.
One critic wrote, “Concept of THE SONG not getting nominated…,” while another added, “??? this is literally soty are these ppl on crack or.”
A third chimed in, “Purely factual it’s the biggest song of the year… What?”
More added, “Unbelievable how come? WUAHHA this is rigged the biggest song of 2025 is not nominated?” and “This was actually the song of the year so wtf.”
One listed, “golden got nomitated over this? we have serious problems,” and one joked, “Tell the MTV executives and music producers to HIDE.”
