Minister of State for Information Technology and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja has announced the launch of Pakistan’s e-stamp system, which will move the traditional stamp paper process online and make related services easier for citizens.

Speaking at a ceremony held as part of the country’s Independence Day celebrations, Shaza Fatima said the government has shifted the entire stamp paper system to a digital platform.

She said people previously faced several problems when obtaining and using traditional stamp papers. The new digital system is expected to simplify the process, reduce paperwork and make stamp-related services more convenient.

Shaza Fatima also recalled that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had launched the e-stamp initiative when he was serving as chief minister of Punjab.

The minister said the government is now working to provide more citizen-friendly digital services and use technology to make public-sector processes faster and easier to access.

The launch of the e-stamp system is part of the government’s broader digital transformation efforts, aimed at reducing the use of physical documents and improving the delivery of public services.
