Lucy Davis is being showered with love and support from her The Office family after she revealed her devastating cancer diagnosis.
The 53-year-old actress — who portrayed receptionist Dawn Tinsley on the original UK version of The Office — revealed on Tuesday, August 11, that she was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer and does not know how long she has left.
The announcement, which was made on Davis’ Instagram, drew in a flood of support from her former costars, colleagues, and friends.
Show creator and costar Ricky Gervais left a heart emoji in the comments section, to which Davis responded with three x’s.
Jenna Fischer, who played Pam Beesly on the U.S. adaptation of The Office. Fischer, who previously battled breast cancer, wrote: “Beautiful post. Love you lots. And yes to working with cancer! Let’s spread that message far and wide! How working is such a comfort!”
Amanda Abbington, who previously worked with Davis on Married Single Other, also sent her love, writing: “Sending you the biggest cuddle and all my love, love, love, love, love. You are and have always been an incredible f*****g woman. I adore you.”

In her lengthy statement, Davis said she is at peace with what lies ahead. “I’m not scared of whatever comes next. I’m at peace with it. I’ll see my Gracie sooner than expected, and for me, leaving my physical body just means going home. Any and all grieving is for my family; it’s far harder for them than for me,” she wrote.
