Tomatoes, which are rich in vitamin C and antioxidants, are believed to help improve skin tone and provide a fresh, healthy look.

Tomatoes are not only used to add flavor to food but can also be used as part of skincare routines. Rich in vitamin C and antioxidants, tomatoes are believed to help improve skin appearance and give it a fresh look, regular use may also help reduce the appearance of dark spots and acne marks.

A tomato face mask can be prepared to refresh and brighten the skin. For this, mash one tomato properly and mix it with a small amount of yogurt. Apply the mixture to the face and wash it off with water after about 20 minutes. This mask may help provide freshness and glow to skin affected by sun exposure.

For sunburned or tanned skin, some people use a mixture of tomato and lemon juice. Cut a few pieces of tomato, add lemon juice and apply the mixture to the affected areas. After some time, gently massage the face with a little water and then rinse it off. However, people with sensitive skin should avoid this method because lemon may cause irritation.

To help clean blackheads, tomato juice can be mixed with Multani mitti (fuller’s earth) to make a paste. Apply the paste to the face and leave it for around 15 minutes. Then add a little water, gently massage the skin and wash it off with lukewarm water.

Tomatoes and sugar are also used as a natural scrub to remove dead skin cells. Cut a tomato and add one teaspoon of sugar on top. After the sugar starts to dissolve, gently rub the tomato on the face. This process may help remove dead skin cells and keep the skin clean.

For fine lines and wrinkles, some people use a mixture of tomato juice and lemon juice. Mix two teaspoons of tomato juice with the same amount of lemon juice and apply it to the face using cotton. Wash the face after around 15 minutes.

However, experts advise testing any homemade skincare remedy on a small area of skin before applying it to the face. People with sensitive skin should take extra care and stop using any method if irritation occurs.
