Tom Holland just created an imaginary alternate universe where his beloved Spider-Man role would have gone to Timothee Chalamet, and his comments took the internet by the storm.

The 30-year-old actor mused in a new interview, “I think he would make a great Spider-Man… I think he would be a lot more brooding version of the character and maybe I got Dune!”

Holland joked, “And Dune would be about a blundering idiot running through the sand!”

However, fans flocked to the comments to defend their choice of Spider-Man, saying, “dawg, don’t be humble. chalamet can’t play spiderman, i can’t see anybody asides you on earth play spiderman,” and another agreed, “Tom is the perfect Spider-man.”

While a third added, “timothee couldnt do spiderman and tom probably couldnt do dune. they both got cast very well.”

One joked, “tom as paul atreides being a lovable disaster is a pretty funny image,” while another gushed, “Regardless Tom would’ve found his way to Zendaya and they’d fall in love either way.”

More imagined, “Tom Holland lost in the Arrakis desert as Spider-Man is honestly a comedy spinoff waiting to happen,” and “If Chalamet swung webs, the villains would be moody monologues and existential crises.”
