President Asif Ali Zardari commended security forces for thwarting what he described as a terrorist plot.
RAWALPINDI: Security forces killed four militants and destroyed two explosives-laden vehicles during an intelligence-based operation in Khuzdar district, Balochistan, the military’s media wing said on Thursday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation was conducted on July 30 after intelligence reports indicated the presence of militants belonging on reported presence of terrorists belonging to Indian proxy, Fitna al Hindustan.
The ISPR said security forces intercepted the movement of two vehicle-borne improvised explosive devices (VBIEDs) being operated by the militants.
The forces then carried out a swift operation that destroyed both explosive-laden vehicles and killed the four militants.
The military said sanitization operations are continuing in the area to clear any remaining militants and ensure the area is secure.
The ISPR added that Pakistan’s security forces and law enforcement agencies will continue counterterrorism operations under the Azm-e-Istehkam campaign, approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan, to eliminate what it described as foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country.

In a statement, the president praised the forces for destroying two explosives-laden vehicles allegedly operated by militants, calling the operation a reflection of the security forces’ high level of professionalism and operational capability.
Zardari said the nation was proud of its security forces for defeating what he described as the “nefarious designs” of Indian-backed terrorist elements operating in the country.

The president also called for the continuation of counterterrorism operations until all forms of foreign-sponsored terrorism are eliminated from Pakistan, reaffirming the government’s commitment to maintaining peace and security.
