RAWALPINDI: Kuwait’s Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah called on Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Asim Munir at General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi to discuss regional security and ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation.

The Kuwaiti foreign minister was accompanied by Nassar Abdul Rahman J. Al-Mutairi, Kuwait’s ambassador to Pakistan.

During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on matters of mutual interest, regional security, and measures to further deepen cooperation between the two countries.

The visiting dignitary praised Pakistan’s steadfast support, its constructive role in promoting regional peace and stability, and the longstanding fraternal relations between Pakistan and Kuwait.

Field Marshal Asim Munir reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to its ties with Kuwait, saying both countries share a common vision for regional peace, stability, and prosperity.

On the other hand, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also held meeting with Kuwait’s Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, reaffirming their commitment to strengthening bilateral ties and discussing regional developments.

During his meeting with the prime minister, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, along with federal ministers for defence, commerce, national food security, communications, maritime affairs, and petroleum, as well as senior government officials, were also present.

Prime Minister Shehbaz welcomed the visiting minister and conveyed his best wishes to Kuwait’s Emir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah.

He said Pakistan and Kuwait enjoy longstanding brotherly relations rooted in shared values, mutual trust, and consistent support during times of both challenge and prosperity.

Discussing the regional situation, the prime minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s solidarity with the leadership and people of Kuwait and strongly condemned attacks on Kuwait and other Gulf countries during the recent regional conflict.

He said Pakistan remains committed to supporting peace as a sincere mediator and facilitator and thanked Kuwait for backing Islamabad’s diplomatic efforts.

Shehbaz also expressed Pakistan’s desire to deepen cooperation with Kuwait in trade, investment, energy, agriculture, information technology, maritime affairs, and workforce development.

He praised Kuwait for hosting the Pakistani community and acknowledged its contribution to the Gulf country’s economic and social development.

The Kuwaiti foreign minister conveyed greetings from Kuwait’s leadership and reaffirmed his country’s commitment to expanding bilateral cooperation across areas of mutual interest.
