KARACHI: Senior police officials from Sindh and Balochistan agreed to enhance intelligence sharing, operational coordination, and joint efforts to improve law and order during a high-level coordination meeting chaired by Additional Inspector General Karachi Azad Khan.
The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation between the two provincial police forces to prevent the movement of criminal elements across provincial borders.
Officials agreed to implement coordinated measures and improve surveillance at entry and exit points through more effective camera monitoring.
Sindh Police also offered capacity-building support to Balochistan Police, including training opportunities and technical assistance.
Both sides agreed to expand cooperation between their Special Branches and enhance intelligence exchange to address emerging security challenges.
The meeting further decided to reinforce coordination between the Counter Terrorism Departments (CTDs) of Sindh and Balochistan through greater operational collaboration, joint training programs, and the sharing of professional expertise.
Participants also reviewed the overall law and order and security situation in detail.
At the conclusion of the meeting, officers from Sindh and Balochistan Police exchanged commemorative shields as a gesture of mutual cooperation and commitment to stronger inter-provincial coordination.

Earlier, Sindh Police have launched a province-wide crackdown against the illegal use of government registration number plates on private vehicles after Inspector General (IG) Sindh ordered strict enforcement across the province.
According to an official directive, using government license plates on privately owned vehicles has been declared illegal.
Police said government registration plates are intended only for officially assigned government vehicles and cannot be used on private vehicles under any circumstances.
The directive said some government officers have been displaying official registration plates on their personal vehicles, describing the practice as a misuse of official privileges.
