    10,500 beneficiaries of “unemployment insurance” during 2024

    Dubai: Muhammad Yassin The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation revealed that 10,500 workers benefited from the unemployment insurance system during the year 2024. According to the latest statistics issued by the ministry, it has issued about 9 million insurance policies since the system began to be implemented in January 2023. It explained that the system’s goal is Providing social protection that ensures the continuation of a decent life during unemployment, through financial compensation paid to the insured for a period of up to three months until obtaining an alternative opportunity. The system is divided into two categories. The first includes workers with a basic salary of 16 thousand dirhams or less, with a monthly contribution of 5 dirhams and a maximum compensation limit of 10 thousand dirhams per month.
