QUETTA: A woman in Quetta gave birth to five babies at the same time, including three girls and two boys, at a private hospital, bringing happiness to her family.
The rare multiple birth took place recently, and doctors said the newborns will remain under special care for 10 days to closely monitor their health.
The family celebrated the arrival of the five babies, who have increased the number of children in the household to eight. The father already had three children before the birth of the newborns.
Multiple births involving more than one baby at the same time are rare but have been reported in Pakistan and other parts of the world. Such cases usually require extra medical care because newborns may need close observation after birth.
Last year, a woman from Karachi’s Baldia Town also gave birth to five babies at the same time. The woman’s husband, identified as Adnan Sheikh, welcomed three boys and two girls. According to doctors, all five babies were born prematurely after 29 weeks of pregnancy and required medical attention.
Medical experts say multiple pregnancies require careful monitoring throughout pregnancy and after delivery. Doctors often recommend special care for newborns from such births to reduce health risks and support their growth.
Families welcoming multiple babies at once often face new responsibilities, but such moments are also seen as occasions of happiness and celebration. The Quetta family is now preparing to care for five new additions while doctors continue to focus on their health and well being.
