GAHKUH: Chairman Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari while reaffirming his party’s long stand ties with the people of Gilgit-Baltistan and promising expanded development and political empowerment in this region.

Addressing a public gathering in Ghizer, he said the PPP and people of Ghizer share a decades-long relationship, adding that the party’s connection with Gilgit-Baltistan has continued across generations.

Bilawal Bhutto said he had the opportunity to meet Prince Rahim Agha Khan in Paris and noted the Pakistan had also hosted him at the Presidency, calling it an honour.

Referring to previous elections, he claimed that nine seats were “taken away” from the PPP in the last polls, adding that this time no one would be able to do so. He expressed confidence that the party would win all three Ghizer seats in the upcoming elections scheduled for June 7.

He said the upcoming elections in Gilgit-Baltistan were more important than before and urged voters to support the PPP to secure a strong mandate.

The PPP chairman reiterated his party’s legacy, saying that Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto had served the people of the region, and that their mission would be completed.

He said the party aimed to secure “right of governance, right of ownership, and right to employment” for the people of Gilgit-Baltistan, adding that legislative efforts would be ensured implementation on the ground.

Bilawal Bhutto said PPP governments had historically focused on job creation and public service, while criticizing other political parties for allegedly removing employment opportunities.

He announced plans for housing projects and vocational training programs in Gilgit-Baltistan if the party comes into power, and reiterated that a PPP-led government would ensure youth employment on merit.

He also highlighted health initiatives in Sindh, including NICVD and free treatment facilities for cardiac, kidney, liver, and cancer patients, saying these services are also available for people from Gilgit-Baltistan.
