DC Jamshoro took control of land in Deh Mole, Taluka Thana Bola Khan.

KARACHI: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has seized thousands of acres of land linked to Malik Riaz Hussain and Bahria Town as part of ongoing investigations into alleged illegal acquisition of government property.

According to NAB Karachi, the Deputy Commissioner of Jamshoro, accompanied by police and officials from the Sindh Forest Department, took control of land in Deh Mole, Taluka Thana Bola Khan, including the area designated for Bahria Town 2.

In a separate action, the Deputy Commissioner of Karachi’s Malir district sealed Ali Villa, a 67-acre mansion built in Bahria Town Karachi and allegedly used as a private residence by Malik Riaz.

The estate, registered in the name of his son Ali Riaz Malik, includes facilities such as a helipad, swimming pools and a mini zoo, NAB said.

The NAB said it has also frozen 1,338 acres of land that it alleges were unlawfully occupied by Bahria Town Karachi for the planned development of Bahria Greens and precincts 33, 34, 38 to 40, 42 and 61. The land is claimed by the government of Sindh.

Separately, NAB said it has frozen all 3,150 acres of land associated with Bahria Town 2, which it alleges were fraudulently purchased by Paradise Real Estate Pvt. Ltd.

Relevant authorities have been directed to prevent Bahria Town from creating third-party rights over the properties while the investigations continue.

NAB has already filed Reference No. 1/2025 before an accountability court in Karachi, alleging the illegal conversion and misappropriation of 17,672 acres of government land in Malir district, valued at 708 billion Pakistani rupees ($2.5 billion), in alleged collusion with Sindh government officials. Prosecutors say the land was used to develop Bahria Town Karachi near the M-9 Motorway in violation of the law.
