Pakistan won diplomatic and narrative battle alongside military susccess in Marka-e-Haq: Tarar

Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has said Pakistan’s success during “Marka-e-Haq” was not confined to the battlefield alone but was equally reflected in the diplomatic arena and the wider international narrative.

Speaking at a ceremony organised by the Press Association of the Supreme Court to commemorate the first anniversary of the “Marka-e-Haq” victory, Tarar said it was a privilege for him to attend the gathering and noted his longstanding relationship with the press body.

Reflecting on last year’s conflict, the minister said the nation rose above political differences and stood shoulder to shoulder in defence of the country. He observed that national achievements are made possible when unity, collective purpose, and consensus prevail.

He said Pakistan emerged successful across military, diplomatic, and narrative fronts, adding that India’s claims were challenged within hours and its posture of confidence was decisively undermined.

Attaullah Tarar paid tribute to the Pakistan Air Force and the country’s air defence network describing their performance as a remarkable demonstration of professionalism, preparedness, and operational capability that received recognition beyond Pakistan’s borders.

He stated that the adversary was forced to step back within a matter of hours and ultimately moved towards initiating contact for a ceasefire.

The minister credited Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for providing strategic direction and steady leadership during the critical period. He also commended Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu and acknowledged the operational readiness and vigilance of the Pakistan Navy.

Tarar further highlighted the contribution of Pakistani media, journalists, social media users, and the country’s youth in shaping the narrative during the conflict. He said Pakistan’s measured, responsible, and fact-based media conduct was appreciated at the international level.

He added that India had advanced a number of baseless allegations during the confrontation, but those assertions gradually lost credibility as facts emerged before the global community.

Reaffirming Pakistan’s principled position, the information minister said the country has consistently favoured peace and regional stability, but remains fully capable of delivering a firm and effective response to any act of aggression.

He noted that Pakistan continues to play a frontline role in the global fight against terrorism, while accusing India of adopting a selective and contradictory approach on the issue.

Referring to Jammu and Kashmir, Tarar said the dispute remains an internationally recognised matter despite repeated attempts by India to portray it as an internal issue.

Concluding his remarks, he said Pakistan’s armed forces, under the leadership of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu, and Admiral Naveed Ashraf, remain fully prepared, vigilant, and resolute in defending the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity at all times.
