    • Islamabad actively engaging with US and Iran: source.

ISLAMABAD: Uncertainty continues to surround the anticipated second round of talks between the United States and Iran, with no confirmed date or formal response yet from Tehran, according to an informed source familiar with the developments.

When asked whether there had been any progress or indication regarding the next round of dialogue, the source said, “Still awaited,” reflecting the cautious mood prevailing in the diplomatic circles.

Despite the awaited nod for the second round of Islamabad talks from both sides, there remains a sense of guarded optimism in Islamabad.

Responding to a question about hopes for the talks, the source, while referring to Islamic teachings, said never to despair of the mercy of Almighty Allah, underscoring the belief that positive developments will take place.

Pakistan, which is playing a facilitative role, continues its efforts to bring both sides to the negotiating table in Islamabad. Diplomatic sources say Islamabad is actively engaging with both Washington and Tehran to ease tensions and encourage dialogue aimed at achieving a durable peace.

The proposed talks are being closely watched by the international community, as the tensions between the US and Iran have become a source of regional and global concern.

While no breakthrough has been announced so far, officials maintain that behind-the-scenes contacts and “worldly efforts” are going on, keeping alive the possibility of progress in the days ahead.

For now, the world waits for a signal, either a confirmed date or a response from Tehran, which could pave the way for the second round of diplomatic engagement between the two sides in Islamabad.
