At the start of the Hajj season, the Ghilaf-e-Kaaba (Kiswa) has been raised three meters above the ground as part of the annual tradition. At the same time, maintenance work on both the inside and outside walls of the Kaaba was completed within 47 hours.

The beautification of Maqam-e-Ibrahim was also finished during this process, while the lower part of the Kaaba has been covered with white cloth on all four sides.

This yearly practice marks the beginning of the Hajj season. Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia’s General Directorate of Passports has announced that it is fully ready for Hajj 1447H, and reception services for pilgrims have officially started.

Hajj flights from Pakistan, Indonesia, and other countries start arriving. According to Saudi media, all immigration and customs arrangements at airports have been completed to welcome pilgrims smoothly.

Officials said immigration counters are now active at air, land, and sea entry points, and all preparations have been made to ensure a fast, organized, and smooth arrival process for pilgrims. Advanced digital systems have also been introduced to make entry easier and reduce waiting times.

Authorities added that trained staff will be available around the clock to assist and guide pilgrims. All Hajj operations will be carried out efficiently with the coordination of different departments.

Earlier, Saudi Arabia also announced strict penalties for people trying to perform Hajj without official permits and for those helping them. The Interior Ministry said fines of up to 100,000 Saudi riyals will be imposed on anyone providing accommodation, transport, or support to illegal pilgrims or those overstaying their visas.

These rules will be in effect from 1 Dhul Qada, corresponding to April 18, until 14 Dhul Hijjah. Under the regulations, anyone performing or attempting Hajj without a permit can face a fine of up to 20,000 riyals. The same penalty applies to visit visa holders who try to enter or stay in Makkah and nearby holy sites during this period.

Those who help such individuals may face even higher fines of up to 100,000 riyals, with the amount increasing based on the number of people involved.
