Pakistan Navy equipped with modern technology, has full capability to target enemy installations and naval assets, Admiral Naveed Ashraf

Islamabad: The Pakistan Navy has inducted its second MILGEM-class ship, PNS Khaibar, built in Turkey, reinforcing the country’s maritime defence capabilities. Naval Chief Admiral Naveed Ashraf said the Navy, equipped with modern technology, has full capability to target enemy installations and naval assets.

Addressing the induction ceremony, Admiral Ashraf emphasized Pakistan’s strategic location on vital global energy sea routes, where maritime security remains a top priority. He underlined that a strong naval force is essential for protecting national interests and safeguarding maritime trade routes.

The Naval Chief also highlighted the Navy’s readiness during the Operation Marka-e-Haq , stating it was fully prepared to confront threats, including the potential engagement of the Indian aircraft carrier Vikrant. “Any aggression against Pakistan’s maritime interests will be met with a robust response,” he said.

Admiral Ashraf further added that PNS Khaibar, along with future Hangor-class submarines, will serve as a reinforced shield for the nation’s naval defense.

He reaffirmed the Navy’s commitment to defending Pakistan’s maritime boundaries and protecting sovereign waters.
