France has returned to the number one position in the FIFA World Rankings for the first time since 2018, marking a significant milestone in international football.

Out of the 48 teams that have qualified for the FIFA World Cup 2026, 37 are ranked within the top 50. However, notable teams such as Italy, Denmark, and Nigeria despite being in the top 30—have not qualified for the tournament.
