Royal family reaction on Prince Harry settlement with NGN revealed

Prince Harry caused a stir after he achieved huge victory against Rupert Murdoch’s News Group Newspapers before the trial was set to begin.

The Duke of Sussex settled his case against with NGN for unlawful “intrusions into their private lives” after the media issued “unequivocal apology” to Harry and agreed to pay damages.

Now, a Royal expert has claimed that the Royal family would be “grateful” over Harry’s “monumental win” after six-year-long fight.

Speaking with Royal Insider, royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams said, “I suspect the royal family will be grateful that this case is settled.”

“It’s clear, however, as far as he is concerned, that this is an ongoing campaign,” the expert added.

He went on to say, “There is no doubt that Harry will see this as a ‘monumental win’ over NGN. There is an unequivocal apology for unlawful activities carried out by private investigators working for The Sun which it admitted have taken place.”

“There is an apology for the intrusion into his private life and that of Diana’s. We know how deeply he feels about this.

“There is however no admission of unlawful activities by journalists at The Sun. Nor have Harry’s claims of such activities being carried out with the knowledge of editors and executives been tested.”

In their apology issued to Harry and former Labour deputy leader Lord Tom Watson, NGN said, “NGN further apologises to the duke for the impact on him of the extensive coverage and serious intrusion into his private life as well as the private life of Diana, Princess of Wales, his late mother, in particular during his younger years.”

“We acknowledge and apologise for the distress caused to the duke. And the damage inflicted on relationships, friendships and family, and have agreed to pay him substantial damages,” part of the statement added.
