Epicentre located 100km south of Karachi, depth 10km.

Karachi: Residents across several areas of Karachi felt 4 magnitude earthquake tremors on Friday, people in many neighborhoods reported feeling the jolts.

Tremors felt in different areas of Karachi. People in nearby areas including Landhi, Khurramabad, Malir, and Korangi reported feeling the shaking, which caused concern among residents for a short time.

According to the Seismological Center, the earthquake measured 4 on the magnitude scale and had a depth of 10 kilometers. The institution stated that the epicenter of the earthquake was located about 100 kilometers south of Karachi.

No immediate reports of casualties or damage. It must be noted that the country’s most populous coastal metropolis has experienced multiple tremors in recent months.

Karachi, Pakistan’s largest and most populous coastal city, has experienced several minor tremors in recent months, raising concerns among residents about seismic activity in the region.

Experts say Pakistan is prone to earthquakes because it lies along the boundary where the Indian and Eurasian tectonic plates meet. This geological position often leads to frequent seismic activity across different parts of the country.
