The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) has introduced a new currency exchange facility at Islamabad International Airport to enhance passenger services.

The counter, located in the international arrivals lounge, was officially inaugurated by Director Commercial Rabia Salma, alongside the airport manager and members of the commercial team.

According to PAA officials, the new service will allow passengers arriving from abroad to exchange foreign currency at the airport, providing them with local currency immediately upon arrival. The initiative aims to make travel more convenient by removing the need for passengers to leave the airport in search of exchange services.

Earlier, Islamabad International Airport earned a 3-star rating from global airport ranking company Skytrax, making it Pakistan’s first 3-star airport. The rating evaluated passenger amenities and airport management. Dubai Airport also holds a 3-star rating, while Lahore and Karachi airports maintained their 2-star status.

This recognition highlights Islamabad Airport’s improved services and facilities for travelers.
