Ali Pervaiz Malik said upcoming price revision will be based on average petroleum product rates.

The federal government will announce new prices for petrol and diesel on Friday, tomorrow.

Amid rising global oil rates and ongoing regional tensions in the Middle East, Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik confirmed.

Speaking to the media, Ali Pervaiz Malik said the upcoming price revision will be based on average petroleum product rates, and it is currently unclear whether petrol prices will increase.

Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb noted that global petroleum prices are on the rise, while the IMF has issued a statement closely observing how the Middle East conflict could affect Pakistan’s economy. He cautioned that if the situation persists, Pakistan may face increased pressure on its external payments, and remittance inflows could also be impacted.

The federal government had already increased petrol and diesel prices by Rs 55 per litre last week due to rising global oil rates and regional instability.

The new announcement on Friday is expected to reflect further adjustments based on international market trends.
