DHAKA : Pakistan’s batting line-up collapsed dramatically in the first match of the three-match ODI series against Bangladesh, as the visitors were bowled out for just 114 runs — their lowest-ever total against Bangladesh in One Day Internationals.
The match is being played at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka, where Bangladesh captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz won the toss and elected to field first.
Pakistan openers Sahibzada Farhan and debutant Maaz Sadaqat began the innings, but the start failed to provide stability. Farhan scored 27 runs before being dismissed, while Shamil Hussain managed only 4 runs. Maaz Sadaqat, playing his first ODI, scored 18 before returning to the pavilion.

Faheem Ashraf was the top scorer for Pakistan with 37 runs. Mohammad Rizwan contributed 10 runs, Salman Agha scored 5, Hussain Talat made 4, Abdul Samad was dismissed for a duck, Shaheen Afridi added 4 runs, while Mohammad Wasim also failed to score. Abrar Ahmed remained unbeaten on 0.
This total of 114 is Pakistan’s lowest ODI score against Bangladesh.
Earlier before the match, Pakistan captain Shaheen Afridi said that had his team won the toss, they would also have chosen to bat first, adding that a total of around 270 to 280 runs would be competitive on the surface.
Notably, four Pakistani players made their ODI debut in this match — Sahibzada Farhan, Maaz Sadaqat, Abdul Samad, and Shamil Hussain. It is the first time since 2008 that Pakistan has fielded four debutants in the same ODI match.
