Airlines in Pakistan have increased ticket prices after a major rise in jet fuel costs across the country.

According to airline sources, fares for domestic flights from Karachi to Lahore, Islamabad, and other cities have gone up. Ticket prices on local routes have increased by Rs. 2,800 to Rs. 5,000 per ticket.

International flight fares have also been raised. Sources say ticket prices on overseas routes have increased by Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 28,000, depending on the destination. Flights from Pakistan to Middle Eastern and Central Asian countries have seen fare hikes of up to Rs. 15,000 per ticket.

Similarly, ticket prices for flights from Pakistan to Toronto and Manchester have also increased significantly. According to sources, fares on these routes have gone up by as much as Rs. 28,000 per ticket, and the one-way economy class fare has now crossed Rs. 250,000.

Airline officials say these fare increases are due to the sharp rise in jet fuel prices in Pakistan. The price of jet fuel has reportedly increased by Rs. 154 per litre, bringing the total price to Rs. 342 per litre.
