    South Africa storm into super 8 with win over New Zealand

    Ahmedabad: In the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, South Africa secured their third consecutive victory by defeating New Zealand national cricket team by seven wickets, booking their place in the Super 8 stage.

    The Group D clash, played in Ahmedabad, saw New Zealand post a competitive total of 175 for 7 in their allotted 20 overs. Mark Chapman top-scored with 48 runs, while Daryl Mitchell contributed 32.

    South Africa’s bowling attack was spearheaded by Marco Jansen, who delivered a match-winning spell, claiming four wickets for 40 runs.

    Chasing 176, South Africa comfortably reached the target in the 18th over, losing just three wickets. Captain Aiden Markram played a commanding unbeaten knock of 86 off 44 balls, anchoring the chase with authority. David Miller provided solid support, remaining not out on 24.

    With this victory, South Africa became the first team from Group D to advance to the Super 8 stage, maintaining a flawless record in the tournament so far.
